Furlong Business Solutions has been selected to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2017 as a result of the sustained increase in its international trade over the last six years.
Furlong works within the education sector and produces a very comprehensive Management Information System, SchoolBase, as well as a fee-billing package, FeeMaster, a performing arts management system, Maestro and a library system, BookEnds. In September 2003, when SchoolBase was first released, there were three schools using the product – now the client base is over two hundred and seventy schools across the UK and around the world.
MD Howard Langley commented “I am proud and delighted that the success of the company I founded in 2003 has been recognized by this prestigious award. It is a reflection not only of the growth in overseas trade, which now forms about 25% of total revenue, but also of the ethos of the company. Furlong has always been highly committed to the support we offer our clients and our staff work extremely hard to maintain that commitment and to continually modify and improve our products. We are looking forward to the visit from the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire who will present the award and to the reception at Buckingham Palace”
The Furlong company offices are at Eagle House, Joule Road, West Portway, Andover where forty members of staff are employed. The company also has staff based in Cyprus, Thailand, Ireland and China.
